a current is like a fast river flowing from one pace to another the currents are caused by the changes in the tempature and in the wind.  i belive niu will get caught in a certain current and will go very far away or it might not take niu very far.

On February 22, 2008 we did an experiment for Mr. Korask's class. We went out on the field, and Mr. Korsak mixed water, starch and food coloring. After that, the outcome was this substance that if you moved it around quickly, it would not get on your hands, but if you stoped moving it even for one second, it liquifies. Mr. Korsak had we poke at it really fast with two fingers, then slowly with one finger. After that, he pulled out a big glob from the bowl in was in so we could pass it around. We kept it moving until Mr. Korsak took it back. Then he asked us wether if it was a chemical or physical change. :D I thought this was really neat even though we get starch on ourselves.

i belive that the sensor may float back to the island or wont make it very far because the curents will push it back and forth.  i also belive that the sensor may go (very) far because it will get caught in a curent that will push it (very) far

I am so excited about this....

in my science class we are doing this project, i mean this project, project niu! We are making this bui thing, designing it and everything! it will sorta be like a trash demo and we will be able to see were this thing is going to go! it could go out to the pacific ocean and come back or go to alaska or (my favorite) get eaten up by a whale! so the posibilities are endless! You can make an account and put your 2nd sense into this what do you think will happen to kms's 1st 2008 bui! (by the way kms is kawanakoa middle school, were i go!) good bye altogether!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

CoolHi everyone hopefully almost all of you guy/girls have been to Camp Mokulea.  Anyway during camp we had a challange to do that we had to pick up as much garbage as possible. We had a few minutes to do so. By the time we were done everybodys bag was about filled halfway. There was so much trash it was hard to guess who wonFoot in mouth. It was terrible on how many garbage there wasCry!But all we ask {students in this project}is to throw away your garbage in proper objects {garbage cans} because the garbage can not only pollute the water and island but harm the animals in the reefCry

I wonder if project niu can get eaten by a shark, well if it does i do not want to know how it would come outFoot in mouth. Any who hopefully it will turn out sucessfully and not return back to the island. aloha project niu again! HeheTongue out or maybe even someone in a boat will see it and figure out it belongs to kms by all the wonderful logos, stickers, and beautiful hand writing. Well there can be a million guesses but only one right answer so students we have to write more and more everyday to give updates on our project.Laughing

Hopefully its close to our guesses!

I think we should clean up the beaches that have alot of trash becouse it is just going to end up in the ocean. If it goes into the ocean it might kill animals and pollute the water more.Thats why we should clean up the ocean and\or beach.

P.S.This Project is Fun.

P.S.S. I might not want to clean all the beaches but only the real bad ones.

P.S.P. Help save the ocean and the enviorment.

Hello my Niu teamates, I would like to say I am happy to do this project. Laughing I like this project because you can find out about wind currents, wave currents, and where does the trash we throw in our beaches go. I feel sad for animals like turtles because some people are just careless and throw those soda rings in the beach and the poor turtles get their necks stuck in them. FrownOK SEE YA!!!Money mouth

To follow up on taylor tamanaha's "Funny Hypothesis", if it did get eaten by a whale or a shark, if we can  still track the device i think that would be really cool.  Cool
