1.) What did you learn in Project Niu?

So far, I have learned tons of things like about the Pali Lookout, the watersheds (Ancient Hawaiians), about the Niu, wind currents, ocean currents, litter, etc... I know we are going to learn a lot more.

2.) Why is it important to protect our environment?

 It s important to protect out enviornment because when we pass it down to our later generations, we want them to live in a healthy, clean, and safe environment. Also, because this isour world, our home, and so we have to keep it clean. One person can make a big difference. Another thing is that there are animals in the world, and so if we litter and/or make it dirty, it will effect the animals dramatically, and they might become extinct, which we do not want to happen.

3.) What can I do to protect our environment?

There are lots of ways of how you/I can protect the environment. One is to use the 3 R's- reduce, re- use, recycle. Recycle all bottles, cans, newspapers, glass, papers, etc... Donate you unwanted clothing you have, instead of throwing it away. Our world is becoming a huge wasteland and it just keeps on growing and growing. Use different techniques to recycle, like for example, to use fluorscent light bulbs, instead of the LED light bulbs, because it uses less energy then the LED ones. Another way is to not litter, and to do some charity work like to pick up trash on the beach, and anywhere else, even in your neighborhood. The most important ways of how you can protect the environment is to influence others and teach them how you can protect the environment, because once the words spreads, the whole world will become a better and safer place to live in.
