UPDATE: Niu was launched on May 8, 2008 from Waimea Bay on the North Shore of Oahu. If you'd like to track it, please see the Niu Tracker webpage.

On February 14, 2008, we took the Niu device on a trip to Ala Moana Beach Park. We enclosed all the electonics and sealed it up for a quick swim. The purpose was to make sure that the Niu had no leaks and we were able to transmitt data correctly. Check out the Map Demo and look for Kewalo Basin as it travels into the water. Stay posted, next week we plan on taking it out much further!

Hunter and traci --congrats on this special project --how cool!! I'm wondering how you got involved in setting this up or got the idea to do it. are your plans to introduce this "path" to school kids all over the US?

love it!
