Fear of the unknown: do we really need to fear sharks?
Submitted by Josiah on Mon, 11/24/2008 - 3:09pmA student recently posted a question about whether or not devices that generate large electric fields could be used to deter sharks, and if so why weren't they being employed at swimming areas and other places where we humans do not want sharks to go?
Shark prevention
Submitted by benbryant on Sat, 11/22/2008 - 9:20pmWhy don't we use electric impulses to drive away sharks from an area? We can just use solar panels and a battery similiar to the hybrid car's battery. The machine's relativly low and safe power outage should deter the sharks sensitive electric organ. That should keep swimmmers in the "safe" zone away from rogue sharks.
water fun!

Dear people,
how are we gonna save the animals that can be hurt by the litter?
Whale
Submitted by SkyNiu on Thu, 11/13/2008 - 8:10pmI have this question. Say if the Niu sensor accidentally went into a whale's mouth. Would it hurt the whale because normally I don't think a whale would want to eat it.
What could Niu see out in the ocean?
Submitted by Chris A Russell on Mon, 10/20/2008 - 11:29amWhat may Niu see as he looks around while he soaks up the sun and rides the wave?
